On 25th January, John, our SUK treasurer, and his wife Beverly are visiting Nepal again for the first time since before lockdown! They will be visiting Garambesi from the 3rd to the 7th of February, staying on the new hospital complex! We are looking forward to being able to share fresh stories of what has been happening there in recent days, along with some up to date photos. They are also looking forward to hopefully visiting some of the local schools and seeing what progress has been made. Please pray for protection as they travel and that they will be a source of encouragement to the SAHODAR Nepal team. Thank you!

Much has happened since the last post . The 55 bedded hospital is fully functioning and has been used for the treatment of Covid patients during the pandemic .
Picture
This has been made possible by all your generous donations and fund raising activities .

One of these amazing activities was  a valiant cycle ride from Lands End to John O'Groats by Helen .

She has kindly offered to talk about her Trip at Mutley Baptist on May 9th . Time to be announced nearer the time .
There is also a Coffee and Craft morning at Emmanuel Church on the 14th June . This is a general information and update on the works of Sahodar Nepal. Again a reminder will be posted nearer the time . Ollie the octopus has found a new home but we still have the beautiful crochet blanket and  two patchwork ones available. John still has some Jams which need to be eaten before he starts bottling this years produce. His jams are highly sort after.

If I could do a drum roll I would. The cake and craft coffee morning raised a whopping £853.25p. Everyone has been so generous. A huge thank you to the cake makers from Emmanuel Church and the added extra from Mutley Baptist for their yummy cakes and of course for all those who donated various craft items . Several teddies found new homes as did two caterpillars and an octopus. A baby as yet unborn is to receive one of two exquisite crochet blankets . We have some craft items available. the butterfly clips need homes as do 13 more teddies and these beautiful quilts. Who can resists Olly the octopus or the exquisite crochet blanket .
All proceeds go to Sahodar and we have had request for USG machine £4,500 and an ECG £900. as their previous equipment has broken and can not be mended .

Delayed Opening of Hospital

We had hoped to show the opening of the new Hospital in time for the Nepali New Year. However there has been a delay in the local government funding which should be soon rectified now that some of Government officers have now visited the site. We have been able to send a further £6,000 towards the project and the local community church building. Many thanks for all those who continue to support this worth while cause in such difficult times.
We await the list of equipment From Dr Shiva but as this a 50 bedded hospital and their current building is only 15 beds a good guess is that beds and mattresses will be on the list. We will keep you posted.

.We are delighted to say that the craft fare at the Royal William Yard went very well. We raised over £400 over the weekend. Friday was very stormy but fortunately for us the sun came out on the Saturday and Sunday. The number of visitors this year was well below previous years due to the on going COVID restrictions, but many friends came to support us. We must thank the Ocean café for allowing us to have our display outside their premises and being such a good source of hot tea. Thanks also to all those who donated such a variety of art work to go along side the knitted trees. Of course a very big thank you to Martin Storey for giving us permission to use his delightful knitting pattern which was the main draw for this event . We have a few items left and hope to do a small Christmas event  later- we will keep you posted.

As the winter approaches and this virus is still making its mark we have heard of two cases at the hospital in Garambeshi. We are thankful to God both are mild but please continue to remember this community in your prayers.
